Who can apply?
Students in Years 9–11 are eligible to apply for Year 11 2025 or 2026, with Year 9 students eligible for our early entry pathway. Applications are accepted throughout the academic year, but with limited places available, we highly recommend early expressions of interest.
Families of younger students can register their interest for future years here.
Application Process
- We invite families to begin by arranging a personalised tour of the school.
- After the visit, families can submit a fee-free Application for Enrolment.
- Entrance to Sydney Science College is selective, and students are invited to sit an entrance test designed to identify bright, curious and capable thinkers who are fluent in maths and ready to thrive in our intellectually stimulating and supportive environment. The test includes English tasks (comprehension and creative writing), Maths questions (numbers, patterns, algebra, and graphing), and Science questions focusing on conceptial reasoning, problem-solving, and data analysis.
- Students who perform well will be invited to an interview, where we get to know their intellectual curiosity, interests, ambitions, and their willingness and ability to contribute fully to the co-curricular life of the school.
- Offers to join the school in the following year are made to successful candidates after the interview.

We offer a limited number of academic and needs-based partial scholarships, for talented students who would thrive at our school but whose families may not otherwise be able to afford the normal tuition. Please contact us to learn more about eligibility and the application process.
